Q&A with Chelsie Jankow
Chelsie had a unique and rewarding experience this year serving as president of our local AMA chapter.
Q. What was your biggest challenge as president during the pandemic year.
A. My biggest challenge was maintaining engagement in a virtual world. Not only did we need to focus on engaging members, but I needed to keep our Board engaged. Communication was key.
Q. How was this role different than you expected it to be?
A. I never imagined my whole year as President being strictly virtual. I really missed the in-person networking!
Q. What did you enjoy most?
A. The people. I am so lucky to be surrounded by many passionate, like-minded marketers.
Q. What did you learn from this experience?
A. I learned so much! For one, we are all pretty resilient. With all the changes and challenges COVID brought, the team never wavered. I also learned how to effectively manage aspects of a business I don’t typically manage day-to-day.
Q. Do you have any advice or words of wisdom for the incoming president?
A. Rely on your team. The Board has so much talent and varied expertise. |
