Ali Anechiarico, President

Ali is the Director of Marketing for Teal, Becker & Chiaramonte, CPAs, P.C., the largest CPA firm based in the Capital Region. Ali oversees and implements all marketing initiatives for the firm that are designed to grow the TBC brand and expand the reach of the firm’s portfolio of accounting, tax, and advisory services.  At TBC, Ali leads the Employee Engagement Committee and works closely with staff to feel engaged and connected. Prior to joining TBC, Ali oversaw all marketing initiatives for a leading intellectual property law firm in Albany.  Ali has extensive experience with professional services marketing including event planning, email marketing, advertising, branding, and business development.

Ali has been a member of the AMA New York Capital Region Board of Directors since 2017. She has volunteered her time as the EVP of Sponsorship, VP of Communications, and President-Elect. Ali is also a member of the Marketing Advisory Group for CPAmerica, one of the largest associations of independently owned and managed CPA and consulting firms in the world.

Ali enjoys spending time with her beautiful daughter, gatherings with friends and family, and traveling. She is also a big Syracuse basketball fan and Buffalo Bills fan!

Tom Torello, President-Elect

Tom Torello is the Director of Communications and Marketing at Albany Law School. He has extensive experience in higher education. Prior to joining Albany Law School he served as Chief Communications Officer for Union College. He has also held leadership positions in communications and marketing at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Ithaca College, Pace University and Salem State University.

He holds a bachelor’s in communications from Ithaca College.

Chelsie Jankow, Immediate Past-President

Chelsie Jankow is the Marketing Manager at the New York State Dental Association. Here, she is responsible for implementing integrated marketing campaigns that support NYSDA’s Marketing and Membership departments’ efforts to renew, recruit and retain members. She also spearheads resident initiatives, campaigns, and plans events for dental students. In addition to that role, Chelsie is the marketing liaison and consultant for Jankow Companies, a real estate development company based in Albany, NY. Prior to these roles, Chelsie built marketing and brand awareness programs for a SaS company, which encompassed all aspects of marketing and communications including event and conference coordination, email marketing, social media, customer marketing and more.

Chelsie graduated from the University at Albany with a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in marketing. She has been an AMA member since March 2017 and on the AMA New York Capital Region board since April 2018. In addition to her work  with AMA New York Capital Region, Chelsie also volunteers with Capital Region Sponsor-a- Scholar, mentoring and empowering underserved, promising students to succeed in high school, college and life. In her free time, Chelsie enjoys spending time with her husband golfing, the beach, and spoiling their ten-pound rescue Morkie.

Jessica Murcin, Treasurer

Jessica is a certified public accountant at one of the largest accounting firms in the Capital District. She provides tax and accounting services to a wide variety of clients.

Prior to her current role, Jessica worked on large public audits at one of the “Big 4” accounting firms in Manhattan, NY. Additionally, she has over 5 years of experience working at a financial services company.

In her spare time, Jessica enjoys the gym, reading, and weekend getaways with her fiancé, Michael.

Taleb Hammad, Secretary

Taleb is the Director of J&T Medical Management LLC, a provider of business solutions that cater to the needs of medical centers, spas, clinics and Lasik surgery centers. At J&T, Taleb leads the the company and sets the projects for success. Taleb has a bachelor degree in pharmaceutical science and a Masters in Managements and leadership coupled with more than 23 years in the sales and marketing field for pharmaceutical and medical corporates.

Taleb started as a medical liaison and was promoted into various managerial positions like national sales manager and general manager of some of the biggest Forbes 500 pharmaceutical companies. Taleb also worked as a learning and development manager for soft-skill training in the pharma industry. He was responsible for training employees around the world in more than 12 countries. He trained employees and took them from basic selling skills to leadership and management skills for managers.

Taleb has been a member of the AMA New York Capital Region Board since 2017. He is also a volunteer with the Red Cross as RAST head for the capital Region.

Taleb enjoys driving and traveling, and exploring different places.

Tom Gabriel, EVP Programming

Tom Gabriel is Director of Business Development with BBL Hospitality, a division of BBL, which owns and operates a collection restaurants and hotels. He leads the development and execution of strategic sales and marketing efforts for the BBL Hospitality portfolio. This includes proprietary restaurant chain, Recovery Sports Grill along with hotel brands Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt and IHG.

Prior to his current role, in his 10 years’ time with BBL Hospitality, he has been with 4 of the company’s properties, leading the sales efforts. He has supported in both renovations and new openings. He has was co-awarded 2015 General Manager and Director of Sales Team of the Year. Gabriel has more than 14 years total in the hospitality industry. He earned his bachelor’s degree in English Writing from State University of New York Plattsburgh. He is active in the community including serving on the board of the Autism Society of the Greater Capital Region along with The Capital Region Chapter of AMA.

In his free time he enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, running, camping and riding his motorcycle.

Lorraine Klembczyk, EVP Marketing & Communications

Lorraine Klembczyk is a marketing communications professional with more than 15 years of experience working with cause-driven, non-profit and higher education institutions.

Lorraine holds a B.A. in communication from SUNY Albany and a B.F.A. in graphic design from Russell Sage College. She excels in developing compelling messaging and designs that connect with audiences, create memorable, long-lasting brand awareness and drive change.

When not working with clients to further their mission and strengthen our community, Lorraine enjoys cross country skiing, running, cooking and caring for her 3 senior cats.

Andrew Murphy, EVP Strategy & Operations

Andy Murphy is the Assistant Director of Digital Strategy at Siena College overseeing the institution’s marketing campaigns and content creation. He just completed his Masters in Business Administration in May of 2021 with a focus on data analysis and predictive modeling. During his time with the American Marketing Association he has been an event photographer, social media specialist and currently the Executive Vice President of Sponsorship and Collegiate Relations.

Robert Braathe, EVP Membership

Robert Braathe is a professor of marketing at several colleges and leads marketing efforts for his company, the Career Service Station. Prior to his teaching career, Robert worked in a variety of roles for Disney, Gap and Apple between 1995 and 2018. He enjoys marketing through LinkedIn, Zoom calls and meeting others for coffee.
