This workshop will discuss the scientific process of listening to information—and how messages are often times interpreted differently, depending on the person’s biology and culture. Specifically, there will be a discussion on the 4 distinct listening styles associated with processing information. Further discussion on how individuals might be able to both recognize their strengths as a listener as well as work on areas to increase their listening competency. Barriers to remove as well as tips to implement will also be discussed.

Dr. Josh Hammonds has over 15 years of teaching, consulting, and research experience in the field of Business Communication. He focuses on how human interaction affects overall employee engagement, team dynamics, and corporate culture. He uses qualitative data to build quantitative predictive models to see how communication is both the cause and solution to healthy organizations.
